In a sea of sophisticated Australian East-coast artists, James Totani is a music producer, songwriter and e-boy, present in the online world, working for the big league under alias Netanya (stylised as: netanya), having accumulated nearly 3 million streams (and counting) throughout all streaming platforms.
After six years of releasing singles, Netanya released his first album called ‘Crave You’ on November 23rd 2020, which has 15 trap, future bass and house songs to chill to, including the titular track – which appeared on Episode 28 of Indie Network Radio Show – as well as the #41 iTunes Electronic Australia single “Learning to be Me”; and “Lemme Go”, which featured vocals from Marco Finotti.
Netanya has released a second album, with 10 brand new future house and hyperpop songs on February 14th 2022, including the breakthrough single “King of My Castle” - which peaked at #6 on the AMRAP Metro Chart in the second week of its release - and other infectious singles "More Heartbeats" and "The Ivory Tower" - which hit #96 on iTunes Top 200 Dance chart in Australia.
Netanya's single "The Ivory Tower" received support from Italian major label artists Marco Carola and Sergio Matina. Receiving airplay support mainly from small community radio stations in Australia, Netanya's discography has been heard in some of Australia's biggest radio stations Joy 94.9 FM and Fresh 92.7 FM.
Netanya's latest single "Colourblind" has been released in May 2023, with 40k song streams in a week on Spotify. This year (2023), Netanya is one of 100 contestants for the YourShot SA, whom will be performing their first ever gig in front of a sold-out showcase in the Lion Arts Factory South Australia (August 12-13 2023).
